Seraphine Mayes is confused. Following her father’s death, she finds a photograph which brings up a list of questions. The photo, along with years worth of rumors from the village speculating something strange happened the night Seraphine and her twin brother Danny were born. Also, the night their mother jumped to her death. In a search to find out the truth she tries to track down Laura, her older brother Edwin’s Au Pair from the eventful night to see if she can help fill in the missing pieces and put the rumors of the village to rest. However, someone does not want Seraphine digging up the past and will go to extreme measures to stop the truth from surfacing.I would love to see another book to follow this family after the secrets have come to light.
This book takes place in a charming town in England. Newly married Josephine Mullen finds herself being the suspect of a murder. Everyone in this quaint town is hiding a secret of their own and all of their lives are intertwined around Tom Fitzwilliam, head teacher at a local school. They all have a strong opinion of him, whether very good or very bad.
I was intrigued throughout the story and it kept me guessing until the very end. If you are a fan of Liane Moriarty’s Big Little Lies then you will love Watching You by Lisa Jewell!
I was sooo lucky to receive an advance reading copy of the Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides. This was one of the best books I’ve read in a long time. I could not put it down! The Silent Patient follows famous painter, Alicia Berenson, in the time leading up to and after her husband, Gabriel’s, murder. Alicia was found with her husband at the crime scene but has remained silent ever since, not speaking a word. It’s up to Psychotherapist Leo Faber to make a breakthrough to Alicia and solve the mystery of what happened that night. This is one book you will not want to miss! I finished it in one day. There was a huge twist and turn that I did not see coming. Will you?The Silence ends 2-5-19
